As a solution architect, I have had the chance to work on several unified storage solutions with many of our vendors. Despite the tough competition on some of those projects, the comprehensive offering that NetApp enjoys enabled us to have an advantageous position.
NetApp strategy goes beyond its competitors’ due to its driven technological innovations. Customers who appreciate technology-focused companies prefer NetApp’s design approach, that encompases a truly unified architecture and a steady flow of industry-first features.
NetApp is a company with a singular focus on enterprise storage. It has introduced a number of new products in recent quarters, including all-flash storage array called FlashRay, the Data ONTAP 8.3 operating system and Cloud ONTAP software for usage in public clouds.
Clustered Data ONTAP 8.3 and Cloud ONTAP are two key elements in NetApp’s vision of a NetApp Data Fabric that simplify data management and data mobility across clouds of all types whether Private, Public or Hybrid.
Moving from a network attached filer to a data management company using Software Defined Storage, Netapp is changing the adopted market trends to a simpler, more consistent and extensible environment.
I believe that NetApp will be a success with many business models whether it is on premise or cloud, especially for companies looking for solutions that meet their scalability requirements, datacenter consolidation and resiliency while having simple to adopt data management interface.
I am personally looking forward to our upcoming event on June 10th where experts from NetApp will present their Ontap solution. For more details about our event, click on this link.
